University of Pécs is the first and one of the most prestigious universities in Hungary, with 35 years of experience in international education and 80+ degree programs in English. The University, with its 25,000 students, over 5,600 international students, 2,400 lecturers and researchers, and 10 faculties, is one of Hun gary's largest higher ed ucation institutions and the centre of knowledge within the Transdanubian region. Its roots date back to 1367.

Due to the credit system, first introduced in Hungary here in Pécs, an increasing number of Hungarian students participate in international study programmes as an integral part of their education, the UP continuously expands and improves its co-operations with other universities and international research institutions to offer more opportunities for students, teachers and researchers. Currently, UP’s work is determined by more than 50 bilateral agreements with 24 countries. These agreements provide the framework for mutual visits, short term student, teacher or staff mobility, and joint research projects. UP is an active applicant for ERASMUS programme since 1998 with the aim of providing academic and teaching opportunities for students and professors by deepening their knowledge at partner institutions in an international environment. The university has also put a strong emphasis on integrating its courses given in foreign languages into undergraduate studies. Project based developments are supported by the Directorate of Grants of the Chancellory. Its Project Management Office employs numerous project managers, financial managers and assistants for initiating, preparing, managing and monitoring projects on national and international level on diverse fields. UP is active in Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, Interreg, V4 Grants programmes and some other specific EU calls as partner or lead partner. The University of Pécs is member of EDUC - European Digital UniverCity, one of the first 17 „European Universities“ funded in 2019 by the European Commission with the aim to increase the international competitiveness of European higher education through a shared, integrated, long-term joint strategy for education with links to research and innovation, and to society. The cooperation aims at strengthening strategic partnerships across the EU between the involved higher education institutions, and enable students to obtain a degree by combining studies in several EU countries and contribute to the international competitiveness of European universities. EDUC alliance develops and tests a model, which can give a new direction to the common European higher education, meanwhile aiding the visibility of certain international partner institutions.

University of Wrocław is one of Poland’s leading universities and a major academic institution in Lower Silesia. Its tourism program is among the best in Poland, with experts in tourism potential analysis, cultural tourism, regional development, and Central European tourism. The university has extensive experience in national and international projects. The Department of Regional Geography and Tourism specializes in wine tourism and enotourism research, connected to the revival of viticulture in Lower Silesia. Today, the region is one of Poland’s fastest-growing wine-producing areas, gaining national and international recognition. The growth of local wines has strengthened wine tourism as a driver of regional development, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainable tourism.

Ambis University is a leading private university in the Czech Republic with expertise in tourism, sustainability, marketing, and public administration. The university has extensive experience in international and Visegrad Fund projects and maintains long-term cooperation with AMU, including two previous V4 projects. Ambis was selected for this project because of its academic expertise, strong cooperation with wineries, and close links with the Czech Winemakers' Guild and Vinné sklepy Kutná Hora, a leader in sustainable viticulture. The team regularly organizes workshops and conferences on wine tourism, wine law, and sustainability. The project creates opportunities for international networking, knowledge exchange, and the development of sustainable agrotourism and rural tourism during the transformation of the Czech wine sector.

Odesa National University of Technology (ONUT) is a prominent center of scientific and educational innovation with a deeply established international profile. Strategically positioned within the Black Sea Basin, ONUT leverages its regional expertise to foster cross-border cooperation and sustainable growth. As an active member of the European University Association (EUA), the university maintains a vast global network, collaborating extensively within the framework of Erasmus+ programs and Horizon Europe initiatives. Beyond its commitment to sustainable tourism, cultural heritage, and enology, ONUT is globally recognized for its research excellence, notably through the annual international “Black Sea Science” competition. The university’s unique expertise in bridging the gap between food technology, hospitality management, and sustainable regional development makes it an invaluable partner in addressing the project’s core objectives regarding rural resilience and economic recovery in post-crisis conditions.

The Department of Culture Management, Tourism, Culturology, and Ethnology at the Faculty of Arts, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, is a highly relevant partner for the WINE4R project. The department brings interdisciplinary expertise spanning tourism, regional development, cultural heritage, ethnology, and cultural management.

With extensive experience in tourism education and sustainable development, the department excels in researching rural culture, local traditions, and community-based tourism. Their involvement is instrumental in bridging the gap between agritourism and regional heritage; they promote authentic local products and experiences, conduct essential community research, and develop educational frameworks that strengthen sustainable rural tourism and regional cooperation across the Visegrad area.
