Our research is driven by a clear progression: understanding the core intentions of Winery SMEs to embrace Agritourism, leading to enhanced Sustainable Development and ultimately contributing to greater Rural Resilience. We explore the critical nexus where business strategy meets ecological and social sustainability.

Methodology

The WINE4R project employs a robust, multi-faceted research methodology to capture comprehensive insights. This includes:

  • Harmonised Surveys: A structured, cross-national survey instrument based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, administered to winery SME owners.
  • In-depth Interviews: Qualitative explorations to gain deeper understanding of contextual nuances and individual perspectives.
  • Comparative Analysis: Multi-group SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) to identify universal versus country-specific drivers and barriers.
  • Qualitative Case Studies: In-depth examinations of successful and challenging agritourism transitions.
  • Expert Consultations: Engaging with stakeholders to validate findings and co-create actionable recommendations.
